Born in 1978 in Cholet, France, Olivier Chéné spent his childhood in the Limousin region. After studying applied arts in La Souterraine and then in Paris (at the École des Arts Décoratifs and the École des Arts Décoratifs), he settled in the Nantes area. Since then, he has divided his time between 3D illustration and children's book illustration, finding a balance between the rigor of the former and the freedom of the latter. In his children's books, he forgoes computers and tablets, favoring paper, watercolors, and colored pencils.
