Catherine Lafaye Latteux is an author of children's books and a comic book writer.
Having earned a scientific baccalaureate, she was a primary school teacher for fifteen years in the Grenoble academy, until 2000.
Since 2007, around fifty titles, including some illustrated novels but mostly children's books, a genre she particularly likes, have been published by various publishers: Frimousse, Pour Penser, Little Urban, Anna Chanel, Lumignon, ZTL, Editions du Père Fouettard, Beluga, Editions des Braques, Langue au chat, Chours, Editions du Bouquin etc.
"Once Upon a Time Under the Moon" (2007), winner of the Benjamin Literary Prize, is his first published picture book. "By Moonlight," published by Mazurka with Oreli Gouel, was shortlisted in 2016 for the Gayant Reading Prize organized by the Brouillons de Culture association in Douai, and won the Michel Tournier Youth Prize (all categories and Benjamin category) organized by Lirenval in Chevreuse. This title inspired a musical performance combining reading and puppetry.
Another title, "Loupiote," with Camille Tisserand, published by Le père fouettard, was also part of the 2020 Gayant Reading Prize selection. The sequel to "Loupiote," "Tala," won the 2023 Opalivres Schoolchildren's Prize. She also writes comic book scripts, including the "Crotte de Troll" series published by Editions du Bouquin.
She is the author of around thirty albums or short novels. She also enjoys returning to children and young teenagers by leading meetings and writing workshops to share her creative process.
In 2020, she co-founded Éditions du Bouquin with her husband Wray and Nitch. Catherine Latteux is a member of the French Charter of Children's Authors and Illustrators.
A mother of three, she lives in Ploeren in Morbihan.
