Hervé Pinel attended the School of Art in Le Havre.

He taught for four years then moved to Paris to devote himself to illustration and to create children's books with the author Christine Schneider, his partner and mother of his three children.

Since then, he has regularly collaborated with the press, advertising, and literary and musical publishing.
